How we work and a history of the company

Rushmoor Mechanical Services is a privately owned company, with the Directors playing an active role in the day to day running of the company and contracts.

We offer a comprehensive service and assumes full responsibility for the design and installation of mechanical, electrical and plumbing services for contracts ranging from minor works to values in excess of £6 million.

We operate within Central and Outer London and the Western Home Counties from the South Coast to the Midlands and the types of contracts undertaken are varied and encompass all sectors of the industry, including, but not limited to:

  • Leisure

All of our Project Engineers have a design background and are fully conversant with computer aided drafting and calculation software. Our design and CAD departments are all in house, allowing us to respond promptly to variations and avoid unnecessary delays to the contract.

Our clients have the confidence to involve us in the early stages of project, which can produce a more bespoke installation and result in substantial cost savings for the client without compromising quality. In addition, potential problems can be identified and eliminated long before decisions have to be made.

We have also developed a strong supply chain. The office based staff have built solid relationships with sub-contractors and suppliers, which has paid dividends in solving problems quickly and efficiently. Early involvement on a contract enables reliable and competitive suppliers to be selected during the design period, enabling the final design and drawings to truly reflect the equipment to be used.

Architectural and structural requirements can therefore be accommodated in good time before construction is commenced, ensuring that the contract has the best possible start.

History

Rushmoor was first formed in 1977 and relocated in 1986 from a small office of five staff to our current premises, consisting of office accommodation for engineering and administration staff and warehousing for storage of materials and equipment for use on contracts.

In 1992 an in-house electrical department was formed to carry out work that was previously contracted out on jobs where specialist electrical work was also required.

The current management team took control in 2002 and have consolidated existing customer relations as well as forging new ones. A year later Rushmoor appointed a safety consultant to review our procedures and carry out site inspections.

Our success has been largely due to the development of strong relationships with main contractors who form the core of the company client base and who provide a continual flow of work. Over 80% of our turnover stems from repeat business in this way and has ensured a controlled and sustainable growth since the company's foundation.
